With scheduled tune-ups from Preferred Choice Heating and Air, your risk of experiencing a safety hazard or system breakdown is greatly diminished. We’ll inspect your entire system, ensure important components are properly adjusted and repair any damage that we find. As a result, you’ll enjoy safer operation and more consistent comfort. If your equipment is protected by a warranty, scheduling regular maintenance will also ensure your system remains fully covered.

When to Schedule Maintenance Services
As a general rule, heating systems and cooling systems should each be serviced annually. Since heat pumps perform both jobs, they should be serviced twice per year. There’s no wrong time for maintenance, but it can be advantageous to schedule visits in the spring and fall. This ensures your equipment is ready to handle the coldest depths of winter and the sweltering stretches of summer. By scheduling your service visits early, you can also avoid the busiest times of the year. If your system requires maintenance, you may also notice signs that include:

Maintenance Program Terms & Conditions
By enrolling in a maintenance plan with Preferred Choice Heating & Air, Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “the Company”), you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all maintenance plans offered and are subject to change without notice.
- Service Scope
- Planned maintenance is designed to improve performance and reliability but does not guarantee against system failure.
- Maintenance includes inspections and performance tune-ups as outlined in your selected plan.
- Additional services or repairs beyond routine maintenance are not covered under the plan unless explicitly stated.
- Replacement Parts
- During maintenance visits, our technicians may recommend replacement parts if needed.
- Replacement parts are not included in the maintenance plan and will be approved and billed separately.
- Discounts on parts will be applied based on your active maintenance plan.
- Pricing & Equipment Access
- Pricing may vary depending on the accessibility of your HVAC equipment.
- Each additional HVAC unit added to the plan will be at a discounted rate.
- It is your responsibility to ensure safe and reasonable access for our technicians during scheduled visits.
- Repair Warranty
- Repairs performed by Preferred Choice Heating and Air, Inc. are covered by a warranty for parts and labor related only to the specific repair performed.
- The warranty length is dependent on your selected plan.
- This warranty does not cover other unrelated system components that may fail later.
- Priority Scheduling
- If your system is not operational, we guarantee a diagnostic visit within the response window specified in your selected plan.
- If your selected plan qualifies for same-day service, then your service call must be received by 12:00 PM on that day.
- If your selected plan qualifies for next-day service, then your call must be received by 12:00 PM.
- Availability is subject to technician scheduling and your plan level.
- Business Hours & Overtime Rates
- Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- All work performed outside of business hours is considered overtime and may be subject to additional charges.
- Plan Structure
- The Bronze Plan includes a one-time performance tune-up (on indoor and outdoor unit) and must be paid in full at the time of enrollment. This plan is not eligible for monthly billing.
- Accessories are not covered in the planned maintenance tune-up unless stated in the program benefits.
- Customers enrolled in the Replacement Accrual System may apply accrued value only toward the HVAC unit covered by their current plan. Accruals reset after use.
- Scheduling & Missed Appointments
- We will make up to three (3) attempts to contact you to schedule each maintenance visit.
- Failure to respond to scheduling attempts may result in forfeited visits.
- Eligibility & Benefits
- You must maintain an active maintenance plan to receive benefits associated with the Preferred Comfort Community.
- Benefits are non-transferable and apply only to the equipment and address listed under your plan.
- Term Commitments & Cancellations
- The Bronze and Silver Plans require a minimum 12-month commitment.
- The Gold and Platinum Plans require a minimum 6-month commitment.
- Early termination of the Gold and Platinum Plans will incur a $200 cancellation fee, plus the remaining balance owed to meet the 6-month minimum payment required per completed visit.
- All monthly plans require a card on file at the time of scheduling. The first payment will be processed on the day of your appointment, and all future payments will be automatically charged on that same date each month.
- All monthly plans are set up for autorenewal on the credit card on file.
- If a credit card payment is declined, the account will be placed on hold until payment is successfully processed.
- All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
- Updates to Terms
- We reserve the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Continued participation in the maintenance program constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
